Rapport from Koll-løpere "over there"

Imponert over alt han rekker over i løpet av dagene."

"The boys are busy.

Both Martin (Bånerud) and Kjell (Christian Markset) are doing well. Kjell placed second in the Superior shore half marathon and Martin was 3rd , they both ran well.

We had a very good ski walking up hill session yesterday. Martin and Kjell leading the men’s team up on all the hill intervals they took from 4:11 to 3:44 minutes on the last couple of hills they did 7 total.

Martin’s lactate sub max test showed improvement from last fall, he reached his threshold one stage later than last fall so this is actually a nice improvement in fitness, Kjells test also went well but I do not have any tests from him to compare to although his test did show that he is in good shape. I plan on doing some Max Vo2 testing in November, since this is a max test we will then see what the capacity is for the skiers.

Other filed testing has been a uphill 2 mile run, they both performed well but our little skinny freshman from MN beat them both by a slight margin to claim the hill record. The 3000 meter run on the track was the first test we did in early September, I think Martin ran one of his best times. Again Kjell was second man on the men’s team behind the skinny freshman Kyle, you could say that Kyle can run and has a good eng

ine but I have seen bigger arms on a clock! He needs some serious upper body strength work, and he is getting his but handed to him on every double pole session. However, I think Kyle has a future in the sport as long as we keep him off of the US ski team so we can develop him as time allows, we shall see.

Ingrid Saupstad (Kjelsås) is a nice girl, she seems to be motivated and she is fitting in great, nice kid.

I have worked with both Kjell and Ingrid some on the treadmill. Kjell is learning fast how to skate with much more rhythm and a better body position, same with Ingrid, they are fun to work with.
